Students and Staff of Waterford Institute of Technology Ireland joined in prayerful, playful, protest to petition to join their voices in poetry and song to Free Pussy Riots on Tuesday 29th November 2012.
The protest / petition took place in the College Street Chapel on the grounds of the old Good Shepard Convent, which had been one of the Magdalen Asylums -- one of the many sites where Irish Priests and Politicians locked away Irish girls and women.
On the day John Ennis, Irish Poet and former Head of School of Humanities at WIT read his poem for Nadia, Katya, Masha in prison, and marked the Irish launch of CATECHISM the international collection of poems for Pussy Riot.
On the same day a Moscow Court ruled that the video of Pussy Riot's performance in Russia's main cathedral is extremist and ordered it to be removed from the web.
